The School

The Higher Technical Professional School (ETESP) is IPCA’s most recent organic unit and it will start functioning in the school year of 2019/2020. It integrates the public polytechnic higher education network. The ETESP arises from a strategic purpose of IPCA’s collaboration with enterprises in the Cávado and Ave region, thus responding to the training needs for higher professional technicians.

The School is guided toward higher education and offers Higher Technical Professional Courses (TeSP) in the areas of Design, Management, Hospitality and Technology, intending to support the business sector by preparing skilled labour.

With a young and skilled teaching staff, and most with business connections, ETESP’s mission is to be a school of reference and to guide its action towards technical professional excellence.

ETESP stands out due to its learning model in a real work context, which makes cooperation with enterprises fundamental, through partnerships which not only allow internships for all its students, but also teaching some Curricular Units in a business environment.

This connection with companies also emerges in the training aimed at specific profiles and the requalification of human resources, responding to the constant technological evolution.

The commitment to approach the companies in the Ave and Cávado region is made through its geographical presence in Braga (next to the Altice Forum), Barcelos (IPCA’s Campus), Guimarães (Avepark), Esposende (Travessa da Carfer), Vila Verde (Soutelo) and Vila Nova de Famalicão (CIIES).
